I refer of course to the ongoing Violet Blue shitstorm.
The story in a nutshell –
A year ago, for whatever actual reason, Boing Boing quietly ‘unpublished’ (to use the technically correct Orwellian euphemism) a bunch of archived posts. And now that the matter has come to light, in a fit of collective blindness, they fail to see that although they were obviously within their rights to do this, it nevertheless goes against everything they stand for.
Bottom line: a presumably petulant poo in a teacup leads to Boing Boing’s credibility being permanently blown.
Oh well, at least it gives me a good excuse to paste in this Nelly Furtado video –
